Howdy tumblr, this is just a little update for my weirdly consistent followship. Really, the majority of you guys really stick around. My comedy is going pretty well, hoping to hit some open mics soon. Slowly feeling more comfortable on stage, figuring out my persona and what works for me. Recently described as a less angry bill hicks and a more deadpan Doug Stanhope, which are lovely compliments.
Also, I quit my job yesterday too. I don’t have another job lined up, but I have 4 weeks notice to figure that out. I figure I’m not happy with certain things in my life, so… fuck it. Change shit up. It can’t get much worse. In this economy it may not have been the best Idea. But hey ho, I like to carve my own little path, even if it’s messy and foolish. Maybe it leads to Mr Tumnus, or a burning bush, either way someone is dying for my sins. It’s just life.
In the 1980s, Romberger met Kirby at a convention in New York. Kirby kindly looked at Romberger’s work and then gave him a piece of advice: “Kid, you’re one of the best. But put your work in galleries. Don’t do comics. Comics will break your heart.”
